
ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal, Kodagu conducted a training programme the national campaign on waste to wealth under the swachchata campaign on 12th October 2021, Seventy-eight tribal famers participated in the programme. KVK Head interacted with the farmers and informed them about the vermicompost technologies and how to convert waste into manure thereby reducing fertilizer consumption and avoiding the problem of wastage.
Later two videos were shown to the farmers on improved composting techniques and quality compost from kitchen waste, which were share by ICAR-Institute of Soil science, Bhopal. Around 78 tribal farmers participated in the programme. There was a session on leadership and communication skills by Prof. Jagadish, retired professor of sociology. Tribal youth displayed their cultural talent also during the occasion.
