Ginger is an important cash crop of Kodagu District and the crop is affected by various diseases like rhizome rot, leaf spot causing huge loss for the farmers. Veerendra Kumar K.V,SMS (Plant Protection), ICAR-KVK,Kodagu demonstrated the technology spraying of Pseudomonas florescence 5 ml/l during June and August to the farmers.

The technology package also involves drenching of Arka Microbial Consortium 20 gm per lit during June and August. Soil application of FYM enriched with Trichoderma and spot Drenching of Metalaxyl + Mancozeb 2 gm/l in 10 farmers field of Chikkaluvara village of Kushalanagara Taluk. This Integrated demonstration of proven technology will educate and create awareness among farmers to manage disease problems faced by the ginger farmers of the district.
