ICAR-KVK, Kodagu conducted its 51st SAC meeting on 4th December 2020 at KVK Gonikoppal. Dr. M.R. Dinesh, Director, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru, who is also the Chairman of SAC, participated online in the meeting. Dr. V Venkatasubramanian, Director, ICAR- ATARI, Bengaluru and Dr. K.C. Shashidhar Director of Extension, UAHS, Shivamogga participated in the meeting at KVK Gonikoppal. In all 28 officials and farmers members participated in the meeting. He emphasised on the role of KVKs in promoting different ICAR technologies and proper documentation of their impact. On the occasion Shri. S.C.Thimmaiah, a progressive farmer from Kodagu district who received the Babu Jajivanram Abhinav Puraskar- 2019 ICAR- award was felicitated by handing over the award certificate and citation in the function.

An extension folder on scientific calf management was also released. Dr. Saju George, Head, KVK, Gonikoppal made a brief presentation on the one year activities and achievements of the KVK. During the occasion Dr. V Venkatasubramanian, Director ICAR-ATARI complimented the work done by KVK in the last one year and he asked the KVK staff to take up more skill based training programmes. Director of extension of UAHS Shivamogga called upon the scientist to focus more on proper implementation of OFT and data collection so that technologies coming out of the trials will benefit the farming community of the district.
