A Rural mart was inaugurated at KVK Campus which is being operated by Puthari PFCL. The chief guest for the function was Mr. Niraj Kumar Varma, Chief General Manager of NABARD regional office, Bangalore. Along with him other dignitaries present were Mr. Manohar Reddy, Manager, Mr. P V Sreenivasa, DDM and Mr. M C Nanaiah retired DDM, NABARD of Kodagu. KVK Head and staff along with PUTHARI board of directors and stakeholders participated in the event.

The rural mart will be a boon for the farmers of Kodagu as it connects producers and consumer without the involvement of middle man thereby better price realization for farmers. Sri. Niraj Kumar appreciated the efforts of PUTHARI for developing such a rural mart for the benefit of farmers.Now with more than 1000 farmer members Puthari is one of the largest FPO in plantation sector and are hoping to achieve greater heights with KVK and NABARD support.
