ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal organised 5 days on-campus training programme of 250 farmers of Kodagu district, who are all the members of Kodagu Kaveri Mille producers society, Virajpet. During the training programme Dr. Suresh S.C, SMS(Livestock) taught about the latest scientific techniques in dairy animals selection, breeding, feeding, calf rearing, heifer management, shed construction, vaccination, health management and cattle insurance. Shri. Bhodawaropananda maha swamy from Ramakrishna math, Ponnampet inaugurated the programme on 19th October 2020 and addressed the gathering to utilize the dairy farming facilities to uphold their social & economic status in the society.

Mr.Muruvanda Kasturi Thammaiah, president of Kodagu kaveri Milk producers society addressed the farmers to utilize the benefits from society to market the milk in the district. Mr. M.A Devaiah Senior SMS (Hort), KVK Wished the beneficiaries to get success in new dairy enterprise in the district Mr. Tushar Kulkarni coordinator, Kodagu Kaveri Milk producers society briefed about facilities & schemes from the government to start new dairies. Mr. Keshav Kamath, small scale entrepreneur from Gonikoppal told about the economic values of Local desi cows. On 23rd October 2020 all the farmers got certified after successful completion of the training. Mr. Chekkera Manu & Mr. Chandran from Seva Bharathi SHG, addressed the farmers & appelaed them to utilize the govt. benefits to make India as Atmanisbhar. Mr. Chandan Kamath gave vote of thanks to all the gathering.
