
ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gonikoppal, Kodagu in collaboration with ICAR-IISR, Regional Station, Appangala, District Agriculture Training Center (DATC), Kodagu and Shivamogga and ATMA, Kodagu conducted online training programme on Improved production technologies of Cardamom using the Zoom online platform on 28th July 2020. Mr. Veerendra Kumar K.V, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection), ICAR-KVK, Kodagu welcome the participants and highlighted about the importance of the programme. Dr.Honnappa Asangi, Scientist, IISR, Regional Station, Appangala explained about important characteristics of Cardamom. Later Dr.S.J.Ankegowda, Principal Scientist & Head, IISR, Regional Station, Appangala explained in detailed about improved practices like different nursery methods, importance irrigation, shade management and Integrated Nutrient management and plant Protection measures to be followed in Cardamom with identification of pest and diseases and their Integrated management practices with shared power point presentation.
100 participants from the Kodagu district, neighbouring districts and also other state like Maharastra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala participated in the online session. At the end of the programme interaction session was conducted by Dr.S.J.Ankegowda along with other Scientist of the station. Many participants appreciated the efforts of KVK and IISR in organizing webinar programme for the benefit of farming community.
