ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal, Kodagu participated in a Facebook live programme conducted by Agriculture world and Krishi Jagaran, on the topic “KVK Kodagu initiatives in Supporting farmers through district level intervention during COVID time” on 16th May 2020 from 4:30 to 5pm. KVK Head and Subject matter specialist spoke about the different interventions of KVK during COVID lockdown.

During the programme Head KVK highlighted the vegetable & fruits procurement directly from farmers, opening a temporary vegetable selling point at KVK, running of Agricultural inputs sales centre operated by Puthari FPO and the avocado sale to Bangalore based apartments and giving higher price to farmers. Similarly, numerous weather-based advisories to farmers were also highlighted. Shri. Prabhakar, SMS (Horticulture), Dr.Suresh S.C, SMS (Animal Sciences) and Ms. Sahana Hegde, SMS (Agrometeorology) also highlighted their experiences. At the end the activities of Puthari Retail Input sales centre operating from KVK also was shown live.
