A training programme on Sustainable Coffee and Pepper Management practices by successful farmer was conducted for the members of Puthari Farmer Producer organisation on 5th August 2019 at ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal, Kodagu. Seventy farmers from Kodagu district participated in the training programme. The Chief guest for the programme was Shri M.C Nanaiah, DDM NABARD, Kodagu. Puthari CEO Mr. H.R. Ponnana welcomed all the guest and farmers. ICAR-KVK, Kodagu, Head, Dr. Saju George gave an overview of the training programme. Shri M.C. Nanaiah, gave a brief talk on various schemes from NABARD for supporting farmers and he exhorted all the farmers to take full advantage of the programmes being organised by the Puthari FPO.

Mr. Dharmaraj of Geetha estate, Balupet, Hassan district was the successful farmer and chief expert on the occasion. He spoke extensively on the various topics of soil, fertilizer, water management for both Coffee and Pepper. Being a planter he put in numerous practical experiences, which he said had gained through his constant interaction with scientists, fellow farmers and constant experimentation in his own farm. The talk was well appreciated by all the farmers present there. At the end Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Kariappa, Vice President of Puthari FPO.
