Farmers Sensitization Training programme on Bamboo cultivation held at KVK,Gonikoppal on 20th July 2019. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. C G Kushalappa, Dean,College of Forestry, in his inaugural speech he mentioned on the importance of bamboo cultivation as a pure crop in this crux of labour problem, low price of coffee, black pepper, paddy, since it is a fast growing , considered to be future wood with multiple utility gain good income to farmers. Also a lecture on selection of site, varieties and production technology was arranged on the occasion from the resource person Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde,Professor &Head, College of Forestry, Ponnampet. Dr. Saju george welcomed the guests and participants to the programme.

The programme was coordinated by Prabhakar, SMS( Horticulture). A total of 35 invited and interested farmers and farm women participated in the programme. The programme was widely covered before and after the programme in the different news papers and AIR, Madikeri.
