ICAR Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gonikoppal, Kodagu district organised training cum awareness programme on use of BEE star labelled energy efficient pump sets and water conservation on 18th January 2023 in collaboration with Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited, Bengaluru and Bureau of Energy Efficient. The Programme was inaugurated by Sri.Unnikrishnanan, Technical Engineer, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Cauvery Polytechnic, Gonikoppal. Sri. Veerendra Kumar K.V, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection), ICAR-KVK, Gonikoppal address the gathering about the programme and welcome all the guests. Sri. Devaiah K.A.Head Incharge, ICAR-KVK, Gonikoppal presided the programme and in his address spoke on the importance of energy conservation and its impact on climate change in agriculture. On the occasion technical bulletin on energy saving and water conservation was released by the guests.

In the first technical session Sri.Unnikrishnanan, Technical Engineer, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Cauvery Polytechnic, Gonikoppal delivery a lecture on using PowerPoint with use of BEE star labelled energy efficient pump sets, renewable energy sources, non renewable energy sources, advantages and disadvantages of use of renewable and non-renewable energy resources, government initiatives and subsidy schemes, sustainable utilization at household and industrial places. He also highlighted on renewable energy sources, solar, wind, hydro, biomass, geothermal as a lot of scope in the future and its application in the lighting, water heating, vehicle and industries, as these are the tool for green energy and avoiding global warming. The non-renewable energy sources are always higher cost and almost double payment to the actual, as the pitfalls and unpaid holders are more in our country. we all should depend more on the public vehicle services for transportation then keeping more than one vehicle at home at the time after planning in new house should give much score for natural lighting and aeration in the house and will reduce the usage of lights in the daily time. Air conditioners emits CFC to the atmosphere results in global warming. Always we should keep their air conditioner 24 to 25 degree centigrade then 20 degrees centigrade for better energy saving.
