A training programme on scientific beekeeping was organized for 50 SC farmers on 19th September, 2022 at ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gonikoppal. The programme begun with lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Mr. Prabhakara B, SMS (Horticulture) welcomed all the dignitaries and the participants during the programme and gave a brief introduction of the programme. Mr. Devaiah, Head Incharge, KVK Gonikoppal in his inaugural address spoke about the importance of Honeybee in Coffee and how honeybees can increase production to the extent on 30 % in coffee based cropping system.

The technical sessions were handled by Dr. Kenchareddy, Professor and expert in Honeybees from the forestry college with practical session on the handling of bees and examining of beehives. At the end of the programme, certificates were given to the participating farmers. Mr. Veerendra Kumar K.V, SMS (Plant Protection), coordinated the whole programme.
