ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal, Kodagu conducted a training program on existing transformative agri technology, mobile-based applications, innovations & smart farming at KVK, Gonikoppal in association with Public Affairs Foundation and NABARD on 18th June 2022. The programme was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Dr. Annapoorna Ravichander, Executive Director, public affairs foundation gave the welcome speech to present trainees. Inaugural address was made by Mrs. Shabhana Sheik, JDA, Agri deparment. Dr. Saju George, Head, KVK Gonikoppal welcomed the guests and participants and gave a brief background about KVK and spoke about the technology-based applications in agriculture for disseminating information in timely manner to farmers so that, they take up agricultural activities more effectively. Other special guest present were Dr. Sridevi Dy Director, Technology evaluation center Gonikoppal and Mr. Ramesh Babu, DDM-NABARD

During the technical sessions first module on ‘existing transformative technology’ was covered by Srinivasa Paul, Research Engineer, later 2 modules on ‘Financing smart farming’ and ‘Innovations in Transformative technologies’ were covered by R K Balachandera Tetd. Lead Bank Manager Gonikoppal and Sangeetha K.B Business Transformation Manger respectively. 35 young farmers participated in the program and were benefited from the technical session. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Harish SMS(Agrometeorology).
