ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gonikoppal in collaboration with the Sanjeevni Self Help Group (Karnataka state rural livelihood promotion society) organised International Women's Day on 8th March 2022. Smt. Rashmi Bhanuprakash an incubatee and entrepreneur of KVK welcomed the guests and forty-two participants to the programme. The programme was inaugurated by Ex-Gram panchayat President of Gonikoppal Smt. Pavi Monnappa. In her inaugural address, she spoke about the importance of women in daily life as well as their significant contribution in overall development of a family. She also shared her experience of scaling up from a home maker to first person of the village, support to the family by homemade food processing activities and its marketing.

On the occasion, an opportunity was given to the participants to share their experiences of success and become a role model to the fellow women. Later, activities like agriculture quiz, games were organized for the participants and prizes were distributed as part of the celebration. Smt. Pavi Monnappa, KVK trainee and homemade food entrepreneur was felicitated as the best progressive women farmer by Dr. Saju George, Head KVK Gonikoppal. The programme was coordinated by Shri. Prabhakar B, Dr. Harish and Benecio Fernandes of KVK, Gonikoppal.
