One day training programme was conducted on 22nd June 2019 at ICAR-KVK Gonikoppal, Kodagu in collaboration with Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd (RFC) on improved production technologies in Black pepper, this programme was sponsored by Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd (RFC). The programme was inaugurated by K.V Thanachen, director of Madikeri RFC who also chaired the session. Dr. Saju George Principal Scientist and Head KVK Gonikoppal welcomed the dignitaries and 80 farmers from in and around Kodagu. Shri. A.H Hedge DGM (Madikeri) south FRC, Bangalore and Dr. B. Banerjee chief manager marketing, Karnataka, Dr. S.J Ankegowda Principal Scientist and Head IISR apangala and Dr. Mohamed Faisad Peeran were the chief guests of the programme.

Dr. Mohamed Faisad gave an overview of the latest production technologies on black pepper, cardamom and ginger. Dr. S.J Ankegowda gave a talk on Pest and disease management in black pepper. The programme was well publicized in local newspaper and AIR Madikeri station. Dr. Somashekar SMS Plant breeding coordinated the entire programme.
